Crop Rotation
Plan ahead! It is important to plan for next year's crop this year. It takes a while to get your garden all laid out and just the way you like it, but sometimes it pays to rotate your crops. Although you find that the beans have been doing well in one spot and the broccoli in another, change the design of your garden to facilitate from year to year. Here's another tip passed down from Cary's father: plant a row of flowers in the garden where you normally plant cauliflower. This rotation will give the soil a chance to rest and get ready to supply nutrients to next year's plants. |
